Our Approach
We are dedicated to providing you with holistic, trauma-informed, and person-centred support, integrating evidence-based techniques from psychodynamic, existential, cognitive-behavioural, and narrative therapies.
Inspired by the humanistic work of psychotherapy pioneers such as Rogers, Jung, Yalom, Perls (Gestalt), van der Kolk and Schwartz (IFS), we offer a therapeutic space characterised by a profound respect for each individual's uniqueness, autonomy, and freedom.
With empathy and deep listening, we create a safe and supportive environment for meaningful self-exploration and reflection. Working collaboratively with each person, we honour their lived experience, unique pace and preferences, fostering empowerment and accountability. We draw on a diverse range of clinical techniques, including guided exploration and emotional regulation strategies to support insight, integration, and behavioural change. Our goal is to empower individuals to take ownership of their therapeutic journey, cultivating resilience, self-awareness, healing, and overall well-being.
We recognise the profound connection between mind and body, addressing how stress, trauma, and emotions manifest physically (Somatic Therapy). Additionally, we encourage practising mindfulness to cultivate presence and awareness in the present moment.
To meet diverse needs, we also integrate the following evidence-based therapies into our practice:
Parts-informed Therapeutic Work (IFS)
Drawing inspiration from Internal Family Systems (IFS), we view inner experience as made up of different parts, each carrying its own emotions, needs, and protective roles. By gently exploring these parts and cultivating greater self-awareness and compassion, we support people to reduce internal conflict, strengthen emotional balance, and foster a more integrated sense of self.
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
CBT is a structured, goal-oriented therapy that focuses on identifying and changing negative thought patterns and behaviours. It is particularly effective for managing anxiety, depression, and other mental health challenges by helping the person develop healthier coping mechanisms. We work with you to identify and change unhelpful thought patterns, enhancing your coping skills.
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
ACT helps the person embrace life’s challenges by acknowledging difficult emotions instead of avoiding them. This approach promotes resilience, clarity, and purpose even in the face of adversity. Through this approach, you will explore your values and commit to meaningful actions that align with them.
Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)
EFT focuses on understanding and deepening emotional bonds, particularly in relationships. Together, we will explore attachment patterns and work on expressing your needs, helping you build deeper, more secure connections with others.
Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)
DBT combines cognitive and practical techniques with mindfulness to help manage intense emotions, improve emotional regulation, and strengthen relationships. This approach is especially helpful if you are experiencing emotional overwhelm or trauma, offering supportive strategies for distress tolerance and achieving emotional balance.
If you are ready to begin a journey toward healing and self-discovery, we are here to support you.
