Most people don't talk about their fear of death. They hide it in the background of ordinary days or in the 3am jolts. The fear of death is one of the most universal human experiences there is. This post is an invitation to look at it more directly, not to resolve it, but to understand what it might be carrying, and what it might, surprisingly, have to offer.

There is a particular kind of grief that doesn't wait for the loss to happen. It arrives early, while you are still holding someone's hand, still hearing their voice, still smelling their skin. This is anticipatory grief, the grief of knowing what is coming, of loving someone you are already, slowly, beginning to lose. If you are carrying this, you do not have to carry it alone.
